2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the Learning for Life Autism Centre. Twenty years can seem like such a long time and the milestones we have achieved in that time is proof of this. Yet, there is still so much more to achieve, in both the autism/disability landscape.
The Learning for Life journey has been transformative, marked by incredible progress and evolving offerings of services. As we embark on “Chapter 2”, it's imperative to acknowledge the agility required to stay flexible and adapt to the ever-changing settings that shape our work across the education, health, disability, and charity sectors.
L4Life was founded in 2004 to address the inequity of access to quality early intervention. Our Fair Access subsidies have been one way in which we ensure this inequity is addressed, along with working with schools, community organisations and training families to provide the support that is required for children with autism to reach their goals.
We are proud of what we have achieved in the last 20 years, developing a Village of support and a staff of 40+ clinicians and educators, as well as a Board of dedicated professionals with a breadth of experience.
Learning for Life’s Chapter Two embodies our commitment to inclusivity, resilience, and adaptability. It's about fostering a community that supports each other in the face of challenges and champions the rights and well-being of every individual. As we navigate the future, we will continue to learn, grow, and shape our endeavors based on the evolving needs of the diverse communities we serve.
We look forward to engaging more with all in our Village this year - hearing the stories of both current and former members and hoping to have a chance to share these stories with others. We hope you can join us in our celebrations.
How are we celebrating?
We are in the midst of planning our celebrations this year, with a focus of bringing together our Village in various forms.
Run Melbourne is one such event. We have set a goal of $20,000 and our biggest Team to date. Please join us and run, walk or support us to raise money so L4Life can continue to support autistic children and their families in their learning journey.
We will be sharing more celebration events on our socials, web and in our newsletters.
